This initial phase tackles the significant technological hurdles of
- Uploading Sailwave .blw files to a web server and storing them in a database.
- Reconstituting them as files and opening them in Sailwave on an unattended (Microsoft Azure) server.
These two steps are the foundation on which the system for on-line data entry race finishing sheets which are automatically processed by Sailwave to produce published results is based.
All this, including results publication in both phone-friendly and rolling display formats has been completed.
There is web app where those with accounts can set up events, load on or more scored Sailwave files into those events and see results published within seconds.
I announced the availability of phase 1 on the Sailwave User Group; two people expressed an interest; I set them up free accounts and heard nothing more. Not a promising start.
